How we manage our time, work and talents also glorifies God and helps us store up treasures for the life <em>after</em> the afterlife." Point taken — a better wording might have been: “With that in mind, Christians’ goals ought not be just to live for some out-there, otherworldly heaven and store up nontangible blessings. How we manage our time, work and talents also glorifies God and helps us store up treasures for the life after the afterlife.”

Christ specifically tells us to make our focus about storing up our treasure in heaven. “So what I would have really appreciated here is a reminder that God plans to bring Heaven down to Earth (Rev. 21), creating a New Heavens and New Earth. With that in mind, Christians’ goals ought not be just to live for heaven and store up spiritual blessings.”

I think I get your point with this statement, but I think that was worded pretty badly. Christ specifically tells us to make our focus about storing up our treasure in heaven.
